HUMBLE COMICS BUNDLE: CREATOR SPOTLIGHT JEFF LEMIRE

Humble has about a week left on a bundle of comics by Jeff Lemire.  I bought it primarily to check out Gideon Falls which I had heard about, and I’m not very familiar with the other offerings but the descriptions of some of them seem promising.

If you aren’t familiar with Humble Bundle; it promotes itself as sort of a charity site that sells digital content and you pay what you want for what they are offering.  If you want to get all of the comics you will need to pay at least $15.

Tier 1: $.99

Sherlock Frankenstein Vol. 1
Gideon Falls #1: Director’s Cut
Gideon Falls #7
Descender Vol. 1: Tin Stars
Royal City Vol. 1: Next Of Kin

Meaningful Mondays 4/29/2019

Quotes_Creator_20190406_032927.png

Meaningful Mondays are scheduled posts that I’ve prepared.  They may include some trite but true sayings, quotes, memorable dialog, and bits of humor I’ve come across.   I’ll be getting together some good comic book quotes soon too.

DC Universe: Brightest Day [Updated 4/7/19]

Comic_001

I’m twenty issues into Brightest Day now and I’m just reminded of how much I loved this era of comics.  The first issues are kind of a set up of who’s involved and where they are.  Then you get the first small arc of it that plays out in space with the Green Lantern Corps and the Alpha Lanterns [OMG, do I find the Alpha Lanterns horrifying. :-(]  Now we are getting into what’s going on with the return of Jade, Alan Scott’s daughter, and also the Dick Grayson Batman era of the Justice League.   It’s just fun, ya know?  😉

Brightest Day

This is a story-line that started in 2010 and directly followed the events of the Darkest Night event story-line.  Twelve resurrected characters are the focus of the story.

DC Universe has listed 116 issues for this story-line.  I plan on listing them here as I read so I can keep up with it.

  1. Brightest Day #0
  2. Justice League: Generation Lost #1
  3. Justice League: Generation Lost #2
  4. Green Lantern #53
  5. Green Lantern Corps #48
  6. Brightest Day #1

DC Universe: Brightest Day

Comic_001

It’s been months since my last post on this blog.  There have been a lot of contributing factors to that.  Just having real world things going on and a major point was a very old, half running computer that I’ve replaced this week.  Right now I am making my way through the Brightest Day story line on DC Universe.  This post is mostly for my own reference.

I know that I have read the main miniseries for this and the Green Lantern books when it came out but I don’t recall if I have ever read any of the other tie-ins or not.  Honestly at this point I’ve read it so long ago that it might as well be a fresh read for me.  I’ve enjoyed the first six issues that I finished today.

  1. Brightest Day #0
  2. Justice League: Generation Lost #1
  3. Justice League: Generation Lost #2
  4. Green Lantern #53
  5. Green Lantern Corps #48
  6. Brightest Day #1
